Don't water Prickly Pear Cacti until they grow roots. It may take 30-60 days. If you water while they are in the soil before roots, they may rot. However, even though the pad may look dead, it may grow a new pad within a year. It does not matter which way they are planted. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because sizing is WAY off. I originally ordered the 7/8 for my 5 year old but it was about a size too small. I went back and ordered a 9/10 and it fits almost perfectly with a tiny bit of room to grow. Other than that, the outfits are so cute, functional and easy to clean! Perfect for the girlies who love a good romp but wanna look like a princess while doing it!
